After 12 months of intense research and development, Penny Skateboards has officially announced the latest addition to the Penny family, the “Nickel” Skateboard. The Nickel is a larger board at 27-inches long by 7.5-inches wide, fitted out with super high-quality Penny branded components including custom 4-inch Penny trucks, the beloved 59mm 78A super smooth Penny wheels and Penny ABEC 3 bearings.

The Nickel’s are made using the same secret Penny plastic formula developed for the original Penny skateboards and is available initially in 5 colours including the unique glow in the dark colour as well as blue, white, yellow and black. The full range of colours should be available in early December and will include orange, red, purple, pink and green.
To our knowledge, the Nickel is the first and so far the only high-performance plastic skateboard larger than 25 inches ever to be commercially produced. This was made possible by a breakthrough design that strikes the perfect balance between flexibility and high-performance functionality.
The Nickel is being touted as the must-have skateboard this Christmas. The Nickel is 5-inches longer and 1.5-inches wider than the original 22″ Penny model. With a longer wheelbase and larger turning radius, the Nickel offers a more stable roll than the original Penny 22-inch model, perfect for the larger rider market.
