Quick Overview
Born and raised in Venice Beach California, Jim started skating for Z-Flex in 1978 and was soon voted as the most improved skater on the team by 1979.
Jim had a friend who cleaned pools so he had regular leads on where the best new empty pool was going to be. This was how he was able to perfect his well known surf styled front side airs and big backside ally-oops airs. Jim drew his inspiration from other Z-Flex team members like Polar Bear. Jim is now living in Aspen, Colorado and spends his time as a certified snowboard instructor, carpenter and snowskate builder.
For the last 35 years, Z-Flex has been home to some of the most iconic skateboard art of all time. More specifically, the original Z-Flex Animal series has been credited as the first graphic based skateboards, paving the way for many of the skateboard series you see today.
To celebrate its anniversary, Z-Flex will once again flew their influence by releasing the highly anticipated 2012 Animal series. The Original team of Jimmy "The Rat" Plumer, George "Gator" Wilson, Jim " The Dog" Davey, Eric "Froggy" Andersen and Marcello "The Boar" Vercelli will be featured alongside Dennis "Polar Bear" Agnew.
